Happy weekend! It's a gloomy day today. The sun barely peeked through and the rain pitter-pattered. But no amount of bad weather stopped my daughter and I from looking forward to spending girl time! We watched Breaking Dawn Part 2, just the two of us, and it was awesome! excited during Burger King breakfast - a few minutes away from epic conclusion of the Twilight Saga! If you still don't know, on weekends I choose to tackle topics besides "serious makeup/beauty talk" and just share what I love. I call these posts MWAH - Making Weekends Absolutely Heartwarming. Onto the movie - we loved it a lot! It would've been perfect if it weren't for all the graphic display of affection but other than that it was cool! This story may be flawed but Edward doesn't fail to mesmerize me as Jacob does for my daughter haha. I'd like to mention specifics but just in case you haven't seen it, I don't want to spoil it for you. *wink* Speaking of spoi...

NOTD: Deborah Lippmann Nefertiti

Image
I mourned the day my MAC Mercenary  died on me. OK it's my bad; I put it in my makeup bag without proper protection and the next thing I knew, the bottle shattered and the contents poured out like madness! The point is, I miss it. I never really took a liking to MAC nail lacquers, as they are mostly misses that hits, but that one I loved loved loved so much. I'm a bit picky with gold polish so I treasured it very much. It's LE so there's no hope in getting another now, one that is reasonable of course because if I'm mad enough to really want one I could succumb to ridiculous offers at eBay, if one's even available there. With that said, I was thrilled when Luxola.com brought Nefertiti into their Deborah Lippmann line. I've been wanting many DL polishes since I became a nail polish addict and this is just one of my lemmings. I grabbed one as soon as they made it available for purchase. All pictures are taken under natural lighting and...

OOTD: understated animal print + peplum trend + bright skinnies + nude pumps

Image
I want to try something new today. I don't believe I have posted an outfit entry before so I'm gonna try that. I'm still a budding plus size fashionista though so please bear with me if my look is not comparable with fashion bloggers, who are really in their zone and are actually my inspiration to spice up my wardrobe. *wink* I wore this ensemble a couple of weeks ago while serving as a volunteer makeup artist in our church's image ministry. I got this fabulous and flattering black peplum top with puffed and ribbed shoulder part long sleeves at $33.90 from Qiqi Plus , a plus size fashion seller based in Singapore. It is so comfy to wear and lets my skin breathe as it's made from cotton. It's also forgiving because it's stretchable - perfect for a big armed lady like myself. I bought my bright green skinny jeans at 3rd (or 4th?) floor of 168 mall in Divisoria for, if I remember correctly, about PhP500+. This is actually in the men's section of the...

Swatchfest: Sleek Makeup i-Divine Au Naturel, Storm and Sunset palettes

Image
One part of being a blogger is sharing swatches with readers. I especially appreciate this from fellow bloggers who preceeded me because I could have that glimpse of what the product could look like first before I actually buy it, which is most applicable to colored products such as eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, lip gloss, etc. Today, I want to dedicate a post to swatches only as I've yet to review these products. I prefer to review them one palette at a time so that will come later. I may be already late to the Sleek Makeup eyeshadow palettes party so to speak but still I wanted to share mine in hopes that there may be others who seek what it will look like on their skintone which could be same to mine. For all of these swatches I didn't use any eyeshadow primer, applied with fingers only and swiped colors twice for shimmery ones & four to five times for matte ones. Let's take a look at some eye candy then! SLEEK MAKEUP AU NATUREL PALETTE photo credit: Sle...

Wishlist granted: Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Camellia

Image
We beauty enthusiasts all have wishlists, right? For those with significant halves of their lives, we secretly want them to get one or some from it for us because it will just make our day to get something we really like won't it? I know I would. My hubby did just that! He came home from his business trip yesterday and he brought me a present -- the limited edition Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Camellia! When we left for Manila back in June, I saw this at Changi DFS. I fell in love with the scent the moment I tested it! It's fresh, crisp and flowery but not sweet or woodsy. Sadly, my hubby reasoned with me not to buy it at the time. With held back tears, I succumbed and became the epitomy of an obedient wife. It was not so hard letting go of it since I still have perfume but the idea that I was so close to getting it then lost it made me a bit sad for a while. So you could imagine my smile was ear to ear when he told me to send a picture of it so he could find it at the airpor...

Happy weekend beauties! Weekends are those times of the week people look forward to the most. It's when we usually spend quality time with our families and friends, play sports, enjoy our favorite hobby, or just chillax and unwind. Personally, I believe they are days we should breathe and let our hair loose. Which is why I thought of sharing with you my personal opinion on beauty, other interests or hobby, people and even belief. What better days to do that but on Saturdays and Sundays? Lo and behold! MWAH - Making Weekends Absolutely Heartwarming - is born. I believe anything that comes from the heart with an intention to touch another heart is heartwarming. I desire to let you see a side of me besides makeup looks, swatches, hauls, etc. After all, beauty is not just skin deep. Audrey Hepburn once said, "The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides." So, with that said, I hope you could o...

Review: Duo eyelash adhesive

Image
It's yet the end of another work week - hooray! I'm looking forward to this weekend as my hubby returns from his business trip of 18 days from Norway. I'm going to convince him to eat at Thai Express hehe. I know you got plans on your own for the coming weekend so onto this short and sweet review. *wink wink* what Duo says: - World's largest seller/waterproof - Dries invisibly - Ingredients: Water, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Rubber Latex, Fragrance (Parfum), Formalin Solution, Ammonium Hydroxide Mhean says: - I got in on sale at Luxola  for S$7 for 7g of product. - I'm not comfortable with the packaging because even though it dispenses the product through a pointy nozzle, the hole is still a bit big that I feel it dispenses more product that it should compared to other adhesives I use (Spring Heart & Dolly Wink). Therefore, I end up using more product and not able to distribute it evenly or even if I can, it takes more time to do so a...

Review: Paperself Small Peacock

Image
Each morning, it is our eyes who gives us a glimpse of what another day could bring. Today, I want to share a review on a pretty enhancer to our peepers - Paperself false eyelashes.  What probably set this apart the other false eyelashes widely available is its material - paper. You read that right - paper false eyelashes. I actually thought that it is ridiculous to market false eyelash made from paper as it is not as sturdy and waterproof as say real hair or synthetic lashes. But it's probably due to the nature of it that the design is very intricate and creative that being the curious makeup maniac that I am, made me gave it a try. I wasn't ready to commit to a full eyelash with the over-the-top designs so I got a half first - Small Peacock. Mhean says: - Even the most boring eye makeup will get spruced up with this lash! I fell in love with how fabulous the design looked like. It was definitely eye-catching! - It's very easy to use and I notice the eyelash adhes...

NOTD: China Glaze For Audrey + Models Own Boogie Nights

Image
Wonderful Wednesday to you all! Am so sorry for the lack of posts for so long as work, family and church ministry took the bulk of my time. As much I wanted to blog, I really couldn't find the time to do so. Thankfully, today is a public holiday in Singapore (Deepavali) and since I don't have any activities lined up for the day, I thought I'd schedule posts. Onto the review then! Oh how I adored this color combination! It definitely has that festive spirit but in the not-so usual colors of blue & purple. Normally, China Glaze For Audrey would look whimsical but put together and not out-of-control loud. With Models Own Boogie Nights, it just got the right amount of sparkle to look uber fun and almost ready for a holiday party! The glitter are in different sizes and shapes that makes it much more interesting. Btw, this swatch is comprised of two coats CG For Audrey, one coat Boogie Nights and no top coat. If you're curious, I got Boogie Nights from Luxo...
